Thrilling battle ends goalless in Parken

FC Copenhagen were held to a captivating 0-0 draw with Viborg on the first game back after the international break.

Kasper Kusk saw a first-half effort tipped around the post by goalkeeper Peter Friis Jensen while Ludwig Augustinsson blazed over a golden chance moments after the break.

A Viborg defender blocked another Kusk shot off the line from a corner and the midfielder then fluffed his best chance of the night, clipping a close-range shot wide.

At the other end only smart saves from Stephan Andersen prevented Jeppe Curth and Serge Deble from bagging an early goal for the visitors.

Sebastian Andersen thundered a free-kick off Andersen’s crossbar as Viborg sought a winner late on.

But no opening appeared as Benjamin Verbic headed over the final chance of the game for FCK, who retained top spot in the ALka Superliga despite the two dropped points.
