Svensson on 3-1 win at Silkeborg and Elyounoussi hat-trick

Mohamed Elyounoussi scored a sensational hat-trick to help F.C. Copenhagen to a 3-1 victory at Silkeborg on Sunday - and head coach Bo Svensson was once again considered in his view of the Lions’ performance.

Elyounoussi levelled flipped the match in FCK’s favour before the break with a quick-fire double after the hosts had taken the lead.

He then converted a towering header to secure the points midway through the second half.

After the game Svensson said there were once again positives to take, but that the team still needed to improve areas of their game.

“Now we have advanced in Europe and have won the first two Superliga matches, but otherwise it's a bit the same," said Svensson, referring in particular to the big chances the team gave away before the break.

"We are not well coordinated enough in our play against the ball, and that doesn't just apply to the defence. Silkeborg were given far too much space to play in depth, so it's both about the structure of the team and that we made big individual mistakes.

"Dominik saved us with two big saves before the break on major chances, where they split our entire defence with a single ball.

"But also in the forward play we made too many technical mistakes with many unnecessary ball losses and wrong passes, so there is still a lot to improve.

"We got better after the break, which we controlled for large periods, but we still got into trouble towards the end with unnecessary mistakes and wrong decisions, so that half was not completely perfect.

"But we showed great efficiency again and Elyounoussi decided the game with his three goals, and he is of course very important for us, especially in the period we are in right now. But he does not do it alone, and the build-up for the goals were really good, because in those sequences we played technically well.

"On the plus side, we managed to come back well again after being behind again here in our fourth game in 11 days, and the players fought  well again - but we are also still fighting with the game.”
