Street tournament in Jernbanebyen for boys and girls

On Sunday 15 March, F.C. Copenhagen Children's Football held an U9 Horst Wein street meeting in collaboration with Spor 10 in Jernbanebyen and BK Vestia.

Over 90 football-loving boys and girls participated from our partner clubs as well as from B.93.

The children played 3v3 matches of eight minutes each, without keeping score, and the ball was in constant play, as the coaches served a new ball in as soon as the ball went out. So no throw-ins, goal kicks or corners.

This contributed to the children scoring lots of goals, dribbling more, and achieving high intensity that was maintained to the great delight of the children, coaches and parents.

There was also a playground area next to the courts, where the teams waiting to play could do keepie-uppies or play 1v1 against some of our talented players from U19 and U17: Marvin Nasnas, Henrik Haraldsen, Tobias Breum-Harrild, Christian Hamsik, Louie Heriba and Mustapha Nyassi.

At the Street Competition, the children also received a visit from Leo the Lion and the Event Team, who brought the inflatable dartboard, where the children could practice their precision and win match-worn F.C. Copenhagen shirts.

Two of our women's first-team players, Frederikke Benfeldt and Asii Berthelsen, also stopped by to sign autographs and played with the children to their great delight.

Many thanks to the players, coaches and parents for the positive feedback about the format and not least thanks to Jernbanebyen SPOR 10 in Vesterbro for the facilitation and cooperation around the competition. We intend to repeat the success in the autumn.
