Ståle: We're ready to bounce back

F.C. Copenhagen manager Ståle Solbakken is looking to Thursday's UEFA Europa League clash with Lugano as a means of bouncing back after three straight defeats.

Losses to Aalborg and Hobro - plus a defeat to Riga in Europa League qualifying - has not dampened the mood in the camp.

"We have lost three games. But the way I look at it, the Riga match was part of a combined victory and we were in control for 75-80 minutes of the away match.

"Three days later we met a good AaB team, where it was a little touch and go whether we would get points in the end. I was kind of satisfied, because we conducted ourselves in the right way.

"But the Hobro match was a sad story, although it is important to emphasise that they also played very well. But it was on the edge of unprofessional, the way more established players approached the match."

Ståle confirmed the players and coaches have since discussed Sunday's 2-1 loss at Hobro and are now gunning to set things right on Thursday against Lugano.

"If we win tomorrow and get three points, then just one win in the next four group matches will probably give us a showdown in the last match at home against Malmö FF in December," Ståle added.

"I expect a fight where we will at times put pressure on them, but we always have to take care of the counter attack. They are an excellent team with good individuals and they have more potential than they have shown so far.

"So we need to have a balanced attack. But the most important thing for us is that we go out and act as a unit, so we can patch things over if there are one or two who are not playing at their best."
