Ståle on FCK transfer window
F.C. Copenhagen manager Ståle Solbakken was pleased with how the January transfer window went.
FCK let go of Nicklas Bendtner, Carlo Holse and Frederik Ibsen, while Ragnar Sigurdsson and Mikkel Kaufmann joined the club.
And Ståle was overall positive about the transfer window when speaking to FCK.dk during the team's training camp in Portugal.
"It went to a certain extent as planned," Ståle said.
"In the first signing of Kaufmann, we had an option to get him on board now. We got some information that he was struggling with his body a little bit, and we also saw him playing on the left wing in Gothenburg (during AaB's training camp). Now we have the opportunity to drill him in the system, so he's even more ready from next season.
"We also know more about (Dame) N'Doye's status on his way back, but we have to see how far he comes and how much he manages. We also know a little more about Jonas (Wind) and his progress from injury. If we beat Celtic (in the UEFA Europa League), we will have to play matches every three days for quite a long time."
On Sigurdsson's arrival, Ståle said: "With Ragnar, it's very simple. We were fortunate that Sotirios Papagiannopoulos and Victor Nelsson lasted the entire autumn and avoided injuries and suspensions. But now Victor starts again with a suspension, and we know matches are coming thick and fast.
"We also hope and believe that (Andreas) Bjelland will be available to a much greater extent, so that there can be fierce competition both in that space and in the attack, but that is how it is.
"As for Carlo, we were in dialogue with him for the last six months. He is our own player, our man who has come from our own department, so of course it was additionally sad to say goodbye. But at the same time, we believe it is the right thing for us and Carlo, and we got a good deal with Rosenborg, and a deal that will be fine in the future if Carlo really breaks through, so that's okay."
All in all, the FCK squad is the same size as it was in the summer - bar one fewer goalkeepers. And Ståle is happy with the number of players at his disposal.
"It's very rare that I've had so few players knocking on the door because they think they've had too little playing time," said Ståle. "Maybe Bryan Oviedo felt he played too little for a period, but everyone else has probably felt they played more than enough."
FCK are back in action on Monday night when they fact IFK Norrköping at 17:00 Danish time in Albufeira.
