Lukas Lerager i aktion mod OB

Lerager seeking response vs FCM

F.C. Copenhagen's Lukas Lerager says the team is looking for a response to Wednesday's Champions League defeat at Qarabag when the Lions face FC Midtjylland in the Superliga on Sunday.

FCL lost 2-0 in Baku but, despite the disappointment, Lerager is confident the team can return to winning ways this weekend.

"We were of course irritated by the match in Baku, but that's how it is in football, and we must bring all our focus and energy to the match on Sunday," says Lerager.

"We have to respond again, as we have done before. It's not the first time that one as a footballer is in this situation, it's not fun, but we also know what it takes.

"Because we have done it before, namely to fight back and show the quality we possess as a team. We have to do that by coming (into Sunday's game) with enormous energy and will to win.

"It will be a great match on Sunday in Parken – and we are looking forward to it. It's one of the kinds of matches that you really look forward to tackling.

"We know Midtjylland well, and they are good at their transitions and are a compact team. But we also have great qualities, and even though we lost in Baku, I feel that we are in a good place. We have a lot of quality in the team. We know that we can hurt them with the way we play, and we will do that on Sunday as well.

“We need to use the energy from Parken. We love playing at our home ground, and we know they (the fans) will be behind us. So we also need to show Parken a good attitude.”
