Lars Seier Christensen: I want the best for FCK

FC Copenhagen announced on Monday that Lars Seier Christensen's private investment company - Seier Capital A/S - has bought a 22.25 per cent share in PARKEN Sport & Entertainment.

Lars Seier spoke to the media during Thursday's press conference to discuss his investment in FCK.

"I moved from Denmark in 1981, right after my college graduation and I came home again in 1995 - and it was then I started visiting Parken," he said.

"I was an active fan almost from the start of the new club, which had been created while I was living abroad. I have been on the terraces, been in the business club and had a nice box here over time. So I'm a real fan, at all levels, and I want the best for FCK.

"It is a privilege for our club to play in Copenhagen and bear the name of the Danish capital.

"FCK should be a cultural flagship and ambassador for Copenhagen - just like the F1 project I tried to create. (It should be) more permanent and more integrated. Copenhagen has a big reputation in the world, but it can get bigger. FCK should help.

"FCK must be the Copenhagen club to an even greater extent than today, we must build a larger fan base, we must make it an indispensable experience to see FCK's matches for the Copenhageners.

"Just as it is for the inhabitants of Barcelona, or Liverpool, or Munich to see their 'City Team'.

"That status, as a central part of Copenhagen's DNA, we must expand in the future. Also when it comes to concerts and other major events.

"I'm here for several reasons, but largely for the sake of football. FCK is Scandinavia's best team and we must maintain that.

"In the long term, we can reach a higher level. We must continuously increase our sporting ambitions, in an economically sound and long-lasting way. The Champions League must one day be the rule, not the exception. And we don't have to just sit in the group stage. We can do even better."
