Træning i Parken

Gallery: Training in Parken before Lyngby showdown

F.C. Copenhagen's first-team squad trained on Saturday afternoon in Parken Stadium ahead of today's 3F Superliga opener against Lyngby BK (4pm).

It was the first time the players had returned to Parken since the season finale against Randers FC in May. There have been a number of concerts staged in Parken since then, meaning a brand new turf has been laid and given plenty of time to bed in.

It was Alex Král's first visit to Denmark's national stadium, while Felix Beijmo has been here several times with AGF.

Gabriel and Thomas Delaney, who were suspended on Thursday, are available for selection again, while Birger Meling also trained, even though his wife has not yet given birth, which was the reason he did not spend three days in Slovakia in the middle of the week.

The squad only flew home from Kosice on Friday afternoon and landed in Roskilde at 1:30pm as scheduled, so Saturday's training session was the only meeting before the domestic season starts again. The club has done this before, and we will hopefully do it many times in the future.

That is also why we chose to go to a hotel on Saturday evening in order to prepare as best as possible for the important Superliga opener against Lyngby.
