FCK Women lose 3-0 in A-Liga debut
F.C. Copenhagen marked a new era for the women's team with their debut in the A-Liga on Tuesday but sadly fell to a 3-0 home defeat to defending Danish champions HB Køge.
After two successive promotions, the Lionesses graced the A-Liga turf for the very first time in front of more than 800 spectators.
FCK goalkeeper Ann-Kathrin Dilfer made a good save after a quarter of an hour, but soon after the visitors took the lead. Republic of Ireland striker Kyra Carusa rounded Dilfer to tap in the opener, before setting up our former loanee Emelía Óskarsdóttir for Køge's second before the break.
HB Køge continued the pressure after the break, and 20 minutes before the end, Cassandra Korhonen made it 3-0.
Maja Johansson and Rebeka Winther came on for their FCK debuts in the second half, with the latter forcing a great save out of Køge goalkeeper Lauren Kozal.
The Lions' next match is on Saturday in Odense against OB Q at 1pm. Our next home game is in Vanløse on Saturday 15 August at 3:30pm against Fortuna Hjørring.
