Veteran Match kamptrøjer

FCK pay tribute to Danish veterans vs FC Midtjylland

F.C. Copenhagen are once again paying tribute to Danish veterans during today's home match against FC Midtjylland.

For the past few years, the club has featured a Veteran's Match – an annual tradition in the 3F Superliga as well as in the highest handball and ice hockey leagues.

Over 40,000 veterans and their families cope with the worry of serving in the armed forces and many also struggle with the after-effects of deployment. Therefore, we encourage everyone to pay tribute to those formerly deployed and their relatives with a moment's applause on Sunday, where we will show our respect during the Veteran's Match.

The club has invited 100 veterans to Parken for Sunday's game and, like in previous years, our home shirt bears the special "Veteran's Match logo".

The colours of the Veteran's Match logo embrace the Army, Navy, Air Force and Dannebrog (flag of Denmark) in a four-leaf clover, symbolising our shared hope for a prosperous future.

Five shirts will be auctioned, and the money raised will go to help the Danish veterans who have unfortunately been injured while undertaking their duties.

DIF Soldaterprojekt is in charge of arranging this for the veterans and their relatives in the form of various physical and outdoor activities across various sports.
