FCK finish autumn season with victory

Robin Olsen’s late penalty save ensured FC Copenhagen went into the winter break with a final win in the Alka Superliga.

Copenhagen had taken the lead through Jan Gregus’ deflected drive off AGF’s Alexander Juel Andersen on 10 minutes.

And Olsen maintained the advantage eight minutes from time when palming away Martin Spelmann’s spot kick after Erik Johansson had been sent off for a foul on Stephan Petersen.

FCK had chances to put the game to bed through Andreas Cornelius, Mathias Zanka and Peter Ankersen.

AGF saw a goal ruled out for offside just minutes after Gregus’ opener but had a golden chance to equalise late on.

Copenhagen had lost possession in their own half and on a swift counter Petersen broke into the box, only for Johansson to bring him down and earn a second yellow card.

Spelmann stepped up for AGF and fired low to his left, only for Olsen to match to shot and tip it away for a corner.

FCK now head into the winter break and will reconvene in January ahead of the spring half of the Alka Superliga campaign.

They will also compete in the last-32 of the Europa League, having qualified as third-place finishers in their Champions League group.

As for the domestic front, the Lions sit 11 points clear at the top of the Alka Superliga, with 16 wins and five draws.
