FCK 2-1 OB: Reaction after last-minute winner

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup was all praise for his players for their determination to secure a late three points in Friday's clash with OB.

Lukas Lerager levelled the scores with 13 minutes remaining before Elias Achouri popped up with the winner in stoppage time. The Lions fired 20 shots at Martin Hansen's goal and Neestrup was relieved they got the job done in the end.

"I think we presented ourselves in a very good way for most of the match, but there are also some things we have to do better," Neestrup said.

"They had some great chances in the first half, but if you look at the game as a whole, I think we were closer to winning by two goals than they are to getting a draw.

"But they are good, and there were situations where we collectively and individually didn't solve the challenges they presented well enough. We played excellently for about 80 minutes out of 90, and we create many dangerous situations, and on that basis I think we deserve to win."

FCK fell behind on 57 minutes thanks to Charly Nouck's opener but Neestrup was pleased with how the players got on with the task at hand.

"I have praised the players for the way they reacted after their opening goal, which came after a situation where Denis Vavro should have guided the OB player out of the pitch instead of letting him inside," added Neestrup.

"We kept a cool head and didn't stress, and continued to create many attacking openings against a team that fell extremely deep towards the end. I'm very pleased to see how we opened up, and that's why I wasn't really nervous either, even when it was still 1-1, but believed until the end that we could win.

"We again showed the importance of having a deep and hungry bench, with players who can come in and continue. And with (Nicolai) Boilesen back with the skills he has, we now also have a competitive situation at centre-back, which was missing when both he and (David) Khocholava were out.

"Boile is good on the ball, he directs the others and gives a sense of calm, so defensively he was the best in the back line today. I'm happy that he's back and available for the coming period, and I'll be too when we get Khocholava back."
