F.C. Copenhagen Women strengthen squad with New Zealand international

F.C. Copenhagen is strengthening their squad with the signing of New Zealand international defender Ally Green. The central defender joins the club from Canadian side Calgary Wild FC and has signed a 1.5-year contract.

Ally Green is an established international player with 18 senior caps for New Zealand and brings experience from successful spells at AGF, Vålerenga and Sydney FC.

The 27-year-old defender adds both leadership and valuable experience to the squad, and the agreement with Ally Green is a key part of the preparations for the upcoming spring qualification matches for the A-League.

Head Coach Kasper Klarskov is very pleased with the addition of Ally Green:
“We are getting a player who is ready to contribute from day one. Ally has played at a high level and understands what it takes to perform in big matches. With the qualification games just around the corner, it is important for us to add players who can bring stability and strength. At the same time, Ally fits well into the way we want to play,” says Kasper Klarskov.

F.C. Copenhagen's Head of Women’s Football, Romaney Pinnock, highlights the strategic importance of the signing:
“Ally embodies the mentality we want to build within the team. She brings international experience, professionalism and a strong winning mentality. She will raise standards both on and off the pitch, and this agreement reflects our ambition to take the next step as a club,” says Romaney Pinnock

Ally Green will train with the team for the first time on Monday, 19 January.
