F.C. Copenhagen sign Pantelis Hatzidiakos on permanent deal
F.C. Copenhagen can confirm the signing of Pantelis Hatzidiakos from Italian club Cagliari on a permanent transfer.
Hatzidiakos enjoyed a one-year loan in the Danish capital last season and has now signed a contract with FCK until the summer of 2028 and joined the training camp in Austria.
Hatzidiakos: Felt at home in both the club and the city
"When I came to Copenhagen in 2024, I felt at home in both the club and the city in a very short time,” says the 28-year-old defender.
“I was welcomed well from the start, and there has been trust in me both as a player and a person. There is a very high level of football professionalism in our training and in the entire group we have at Number 10.
“I appreciate that enormously, and I really hope to be able to repay the trust I have received from the club with this deal.
“The end of the season was fantastic, and it showed some of the potential that this group has. We have worked very hard all season and have been critical of our performances. We know when it has not been good enough, but I also think we have proven what we can achieve together.
“I am looking forward to even more seasons in Copenhagen, where we will win more championships and trophies.”

Sune: A mature and important player
Sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen says of the agreement:
“We are happy that the deal has been reached, and we have managed to make a good deal for us as a club. At the same time, it has been positive to experience how much Pantelis himself has been interested in staying at Copenhagen.
“He is a mature player that we can see more players leaning on in the future in terms of creating a solid defence.
“Pantelis has been an important player in the season that has just ended, where he took responsibility from the start and showed a high level. We focused on creating a solid defensive structure last summer, and we succeeded. Pantelis was one of the players who contributed to that development.”
Neestrup: Clear leadership qualities
Hatzidiakos played 40 games for FCK last season, and it pleases head coach Jacob Neestrup that even more are now waiting in the white shirt.
“We felt from the first game that we had got hold of a skilled defender, who is smart in his play, skilled in the constructive game and has clear leadership qualities,” says Neestrup.
“He played with great stability, especially in the Championship Round, where he was solid both in defence and when we had to go forward.
"Pantelis is also one of those players who is incredibly curious about the game and its development, and he spends time immersing himself in the details. We look forward to building on the good foundation we created last season.
Hatzidiakos will continue to wear shirt number 6 in the upcoming season.
