F.C. Copenhagen sign Mads Emil Madsen
F.C. Copenhagen have reached an agreement with AGF for midfielder Mads Emil Madsen, who will join the Danish champions.
The 27-year-old Dane started his career at Silkeborg IF and has gained experience abroad at Austrian side LASK and Czech club Slavia Prague, while he has been a key player in Aarhus since 2022.

"This step feels absolutely right,” says Madsen.
“F.C. Copenhagen are Scandinavia's biggest club, and the ambitions for championships and European football appeal to me. I am looking forward to becoming part of the team and contributing with my strengths. I am especially looking forward to playing in front of the fans both in Parken and away from home.
"It has been a very big wish for me to come to F.C. Copenhagen. I am hungry to play with and against the best, and I can't wait to get on the training pitch.
"I come with great respect for the quality that is already in the squad, and I look forward to working hard from day one to help get results.”

FCK sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen says: "Mads Emil has shown a very solid and high level in the Superliga for a long time. He brings a valuable combination of experience, physicality and game intelligence, which can complement our midfield. We get a player who can take responsibility at both ends of the pitch, and who knows exactly what it takes to perform in the Superliga. And on top of this, he is an important addition to the squad's Scandinavian core.
"It's no secret that we've been looking at Mads Emil for a long time, and with Magnus' (Mattsson) injury, Mads Emil has become even more relevant to us. He can bring some of the qualities that we currently lack in our midfield. That's why we're happy that we've now managed to reach an agreement with AGF.”
Neestrup: Mads Emil covers our needs
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup adds: "Mads Emil covers our needs in terms of skills in central midfield. He's a player who can set the game from deep and at the same time operate in the space closer to the opponent's goal. He will immediately be able to contribute with dynamism and game intelligence - both with and without the ball - and the ability to change space.
"At the same time, he plays with high defensive intensity and responsibility, which is an indispensable requirement as a central midfielder at F.C. Copenhagen in both domestic and European matches. He can also contribute significantly in set pieces.
"From day one, Mads Emil will be a permanent part of the team of players who will lead F.C. Copenhagen safely through the coming autumn in the Champions League, the Danish Cup and the Superliga.”
Mads Emil Madsen will wear the number 21 jersey.
