F.C. Copenhagen shirt auction raises €64,000

F.C. Copenhagen's shirt auction has raised more than €64,000 for the SMIL Foundation. The shirts – specially designed by FCK players alongside kids from the SMIL Foundation – were worn in the recent 2-1 win over Viborg in Parken.

They were put on action site Lauritz, where fans could bid from a starting price of 1,000 DKK (€134 | £118). The auction has now ended and the club can confirm 478,396 DKK (€64,186 | £56,753) has been raised for the charity.

"It is an incredibly good result, which makes us very proud," says F.C. Copenhagen director Jacob Lauesen. "We are happy about the collaboration we have together with 3 and the SMIL Foundation, and it has been great to feel the support from everyone around this collaboration.

"But most of all, we are happy to have given children and their families some good experiences in Parken."

Kids from the SMIL Foundation helped their favourite players design the numbers and lettering of their home shirts for the game with Viborg. Mohamed Daramy and Victor Claesson got the goals for the Lions that day.

In addition to the auction, the total amount raised also includes donations from guests in Parken for during the Viborg game, as well as a large contribution from F.C. Copenhagen's squad. The auction for the jerseys was held in collaboration with lauritz.com, and was concluded on Sunday evening.

All proceeds from the auction go directly and uncut to the SMIL Foundation. Lauritz.com has chosen to donate the involved fees from the auction to the charity.
