F.C. Copenhagen and Andel launch Hall of Femme for Denmark's 55,874 female footballers
F.C. Copenhagen and Andel have a joint nationwide initiative that pays tribute to Denmark's 50,000+ female football players, in a pledge to strengthen Danish women's football.
The newly established Hall of Femme highlights the role models of women's football, and the country's 55,874 female football players are invited to take part.
The initiative, which stems from the partnership that Andel and F.C. Copenhagen entered into in February 2025, is intended to inspire more young girls to follow their football dreams.
Danish women's football is experiencing significant progress across all age groups, and football has become the second largest sport among girls. Unfortunately, many girls leave football in their teens, and indications are that young girls have difficulty seeing a football future for themselves. Both F.C. Copenhagen and the energy and fibre network group Andel want to change this, and that is why Denmark's female footballers are being celebrated with this new nationwide initiative.
"Many girls leave football when they reach their teens. Not because they lack talent or interest, but because they have fewer visible role models and many practical challenges that hinder them," says Rikke Trikker, HR and Communications Director and Senior Vice President at Andel.
"It is important that they feel their football dreams can come true - and we are now doing something about that."
With Hall of Femme, F.C. Copenhagen and Andel are actively addressing the challenge by giving the country's female footballers the opportunity to be portrayed on the iconic banners in Parken Stadium. A draw will be made among all participants to determine who will have the honour of representing an entire generation of football dreams.
“We want to strengthen women's football in Denmark by highlighting the opportunities available, so that even more people can open their eyes to the joys and potential of football,” says Mikkel Grove Lindsted, commercial director at F.C. Copenhagen.
"In a very short time, F.C. Copenhagen Women have created a team that reaches far and wide to all football-loving girls and women, and now these new idols will show the way for the football community."
With parental consent, girls of all ages can apply for admission to the Hall of Femme. In addition, girls aged 14-19 can apply for the new Hall of Femme grant, which is awarded once a year to two young players as financial support for their development.
In addition, the girls can meet players from F.C. Copenhagen's Women's team, hear their unique stories, get personal advice from elite coaches and participate in facilitated training.
The goal is to show that the dream is possible for more people to achieve.
The initiative launched on International Women's Day on 8 March.
