Elyounoussi: 'We must attack the match'
Mohamed Elyounoussi says his F.C. Copenhagen teammates are ready to "attack the match" and go for three points at FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this evening.
The Lions need at least a point to stand any chance of securing a top-24 finish to the League Phase, while a win would certainly be welcome.
And Elyounoussi, one of FCK's more experienced players in the European stage, says the team is at Camp Nou to get a result.
“It's fun to be here at Camp Nou and play such an important match in such a beautiful stadium, but also because we have put ourselves in a position where we can go through (to the knockout stage)," says Elyounoussi.
"We are not here as tourists, but to compete and possibly advance.
“We know it will be tough, but we must always remember to enjoy playing in the Champions League. We have shown before that we can perform well against good teams and take points, so we must attack the match like the others. Of course, (we'll do it) with respect for Barcelona, who are a strong team.
"We will also have opportunities in the match, and we must take advantage of them, but it's clear that we must over-perform to bring something home."
Tonight FCK may face out former player Roony Bardghji, moved to Barcelona in the summer and who is now a permanent part of their first-team squad.
"I have spoken to Roony a little in recent days, and he is doing well down here in Barcelona," adds Elyounoussi. "I also hope that he plays tonight.
"However, he wouldn't promise me that he won't score, so I haven't promised him not to score either."
