Morten Boesen

Club doctor Morten Boesen joins DBU

FC Copenhagen club doctor Morten Boesen has been appointed to a newly-established position as federal doctor at the DBU (Danish FA).

Morten will be responsible for the health activities of all national teams, while continuing to work for FCK.

“Morten must ensure standards in the DBU's health work, and be assured that we always handle the treatment of our best male and female players alike and at the highest level," says the DBU's football director Peter Møller.

"It requires deep insight into our world, and here we are fortunate to have an agreement with Morten.

Morten, 45, has been at FC Copenhagen since 2004 and has managed the health staff since 2009.

“I am really looking forward to working with the staff and the players in the national team and with my other colleagues at the other national teams," Morten said.

"From my work at FCK, I already know the routines of a team and am used to the set-up on a national team via the European matches.

"The job as a national team doctor is possible because of the international breaks, so when I am traveling with the DBU national team, my brother Anders, who is also a doctor, will help with the work at FCK.

"The relationship with the clubs is essential in the work of the federal doctor, and that relationship is only strengthened through my continued work for FC Copenhagen."
