Nicolai Boilesen

Boilesen extends deal until 2025

F.C. Copenhagen and Nicolai Boilesen have agreed to extend the defender's contract until the summer of 2025.

Boilesen joined FCK from AFC Ajax in the summer of 2016 and has played 165 games for the Lions. He has won three Danish Superliga titles and the DBU Cup.

"Nicolai has earned this new agreement," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.

"He took on a lot of responsibility, especially in the autumn, when there was a real need for him as we had a number of first-team players injured. He is one of the leaders on the team, where he contributes with his qualities as a player and also sets an example to the youngsters.

"He is tactically and technically at a very high level, and we are happy to have this agreement with him in place now."

Boilesen also boasts 22 appearances for the Denmark national team, and won four Dutch titles during his time at Ajax. Now the goal is to bring more trophies to Parken.

"I'm really happy that my future lies with FCK," says Boilesen.

"I love being a part of the club, I love playing in Parken, and I enjoy training with the team and staff. That said, I'm here because I want to win titles with the club and I see plenty of opportunities for us to take steps forward both domestically and in Europe.

"We have to win the championship again, we want to play in the Champions League group stage, and we also have a clear goal of bringing the cup back to Copenhagen, so there are lots of exciting challenges that await me and the team."
