Andreas Cornelius injury update

Striker Andreas Cornelius has suffered a muscle injury that means he will be unable to play for Andreas Cornelius for several weeks. It is possible he may be out for the rest of the 2022/23 Danish Superliga season.

Cornelius left the field during Sunday's game in Aarhus and FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup has an update.

"It is of course a shame for F.C. Copenhagen that Andreas cannot contribute, but most of all it is a shame for him," says Neestrup.

"He knows he's an important player for our team and that's why he wants to contribute as much as possible. It hasn't been easy for him recently and we all feel for him. We'll do everything we can can to help him back on the field either this season or next."

Cornelius: 'It's frustrating'
Cornelius himself spoke to FCK.dk and says: "I would really like to have contributed much more than I have been able to do due to injuries.

"It's frustrating and unfortunate that I can't help the club and the team in the important games ahead, but I will support the boys as best I can and work my way back.

"I have experienced great support from the club and my teammates and from lots of people who have sent encouraging messages. I really appreciate that."

Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to wish Andreas a speedy recovery.
