Svensson previews OB clash: 'We have a challenge ahead of us'

Bo Svensson says Wednesday's Danish Superliga showdown between F.C. Copenhagen and OB will be a big test for his team, as the Lions head coach seeks to make it four wins on the bounce this spring.

Svensson and OB head coach Alexander Zorniger both used to manage in the Bundesliga – and face off on the Parken touchline this afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Svensson said: "I've spoken to Alex a few times, so I know him well, and I think he's done really well at OB with a promoted team that has become very stable.

"So we have a challenge ahead of us, and we haven't won against them in the three previous matches this season either. We would of course like to change that, and we are looking forward to playing in Parken again.

"Especially in Vejle, the surface affected the game a lot, and it will probably be a slightly different football match here."

Elias Achouri and Thomas Delaney are back in the squad, while Gabriel is not yet ready to feature.

On Sunday, newly promoted first-teamer Geovanni Ndjee scored twice when he came off the bench against Vejle, and on Tuesday Svensson and the rest of the coaching team saw another talented striker score twice, as David Boison scored a double in the U19's 4-1 win over OB – the other two goals being scored by Kyung-Hyun Lee and Gunnar Olsen.

"It's the first time I've seen the U19s play a match, but we've had several young players up and training with them," added Svensson. "They're doing well, and we have a lot of young talented players overall, and it's good to get the opportunity to come out and see some of them in action."
