Neestrup: Second half too passive in OB defeat

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup says his team was "too passive" after the break in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to OB.

Jordan Larsson gave the Lions a 24th-minute opener before the hosts turned the game late on with strikes from Julius Berthel Askou and ex-FCK player Rasmus Falk.

"We didn't take advantage of our many opportunities in the first half, and then we stopped playing a little after the break," Neestrup summed said afterwards.

"We have to close the game out in the first 25-30 minutes, when we were really good and had six or seven potential opportunities. We got into a free flow going towards their goal, but we were too weak and didn't take care of the finishes.

"Our level dropped a bit in the last quarter of an hour before the break, but we still had a good feeling at half-time and adjusted some things to be able to continue to hurt OB. We were also excellent in the first seven or eight minutes after the break, when we had another great opportunity to extend the lead.

"But then we stopped playing, and for the rest of the game we were far too passive and ended up losing to an OB team that was much more dynamic and active throughout the second half, both offensively and defensively.

"I understand if the fans are disappointed and frustrated that we are once again not delivering in the Superliga, and it is difficult for all of us to be a part of this.

"But as always, we must analyse the game thoroughly, both the positive and the negative, and continue to work on the training pitch next week to get ourselves as ready as possible for the next game, which is in a week."

Next up for FCK is a home tie with FC Fredericia in Parken on Sunday 22 March at 4pm.
