F.C. Copenhagen hires new assistant coach
Kristoffer Wichmann will be a new assistant coach in F.C. Copenhagen's coaching staff.
44-year-old Wichmann will focus on set pieces and replaces Sergio Almenara, who is leaving F.C. Copenhagen to be closer to his family.
Sergio Almenara has been offered a job opportunity that will allow him to be closer to his family, and F.C. Copenhagen has granted his wish. Therefore, Kristoffer Wichmann will now take over the position.
"We naturally accept Sergio's wish to move closer to his family, who live in Finland. We have greatly appreciated Sergio's qualities on a daily basis and around the players, and we wish him all the best going forward," says head coach Jacob Neestrup.
The head coach says the following about the newest member of the coaching staff:
"Kristoffer Wichmann is a coach with great charisma and a lot of authority, which he can bring to the training pitch. He has done well in previous jobs as head coach and most recently as assistant coach in the Bundesliga. Both we and Kristoffer see it as a good opportunity for both parties, and we are delighted that he will become part of F.C. Copenhagen," says Jacob Neestrup.
The agreement with Kristoffer Wichmann will initially run for the remainder of the season.
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen wishes Sergio Almenara good luck in the future and also warmly welcomes Kristoffer Wichmann.
