Jonathan Moalem joins FCK first team with new contract

Jonathan Moalem has extended his contract at F.C. Copenhagen until the summer of 2030 and will move up to the first-team squad when the players return for the new season this summer.

The 18-year-old has played for KB since he was four and has gone through his entire footballing development at the club.

Sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen said of the extension: "Jonathan is a top international talent who has a great future ahead of him. He has both technical and tactical understanding at a high level. There is of course still some way to go, but Jonathan has all the prerequisites to become a player we will like very much at F.C. Copenhagen.

"We are looking forward to getting him into the first-team squad, where he will of course have to settle in. We look forward to following his further development at F.C. Copenhagen."

Moalem has also represented Denmark at U17 level, where he helped the team reach the semi-finals at the European Championship finals in Cyprus. He has made two U18 appearances so far.

“I am incredibly happy to have this opportunity to become part of the first-team squad for the new season," said Moalem.

"It has been a big goal for me and something that I have dreamed of for many years. I have been here since I was four years old, and the club means a lot to me and my family. I look forward to continuing my development at F.C. Copenhagen, and I look forward to training with many talented players and learning from them."

FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup added: "We are looking forward to bringing another talented player from our own ranks into the first team-squad. I know that Jonathan comes with a strong football education from his time at FCK Talent.

"We can look forward to getting a talented player, who of course must be allowed to settle into the squad and get used to the higher pace and greater intensity."
