Svensson: We must deliver profession performance vs Debreceni VSC

F.C. Copenhagen carry a 3-0 first-leg lead into tonight's UEFA Conference League Q3 clash with Debreceni VSC – and head coach Bo Svensson insists he wants another professional display from his side.

The Lions didn't play over the weekend and, while there is full focus on this clash against Hungarian opposition, the boss says nothing can be taken for granted.

"We got a really good result in Hungary, and apart from the first 15 minutes we delivered a very mature and stable performance. That is the foundation we will build on here in Parken," says Svensson.

"Football is about getting the job done. We've seen other teams get into trouble or let opponents eat away at us in a match if you slacken your concentration even a little. For us, it's about going out with full respect for the task in hand and delivering a professional F.C. Copenhagen performance from the first whistle to the last."

Building on stability
For the head coach, Wednesday's match is not only about advancing to the playoff round, but just as much about continuing the team's positive development in the different phases of the game.

The match in Hungary produced a clean sheet, and Svensson stressed both defensive control and attacking intent must be maintained.

"We looked pretty stable against the ball in Hungary, and we gave away very little," says Svensson.

"Now we need to use our home field in Parken to control the game even more with the ball. There are still a few phases in our game that we would like to improve and sharpen – both in our structure and in the relationships in the final third.

"We take every match as an opportunity to add a layer to our game, and you (the fans) should also be able to see that in Parken tonight."

Kick off in Parken at 6pm Danish time. If you are unable to attend, you can also watch the game in the FCK app and on tv.fck.dk if you have an FCK+ subscription.
