Neestrup on 'pros and cons' of 4-4 draw with Sturm Graz

Jacob Neestrup says there were positives and negatives to take from Wednesday's 4-4 friendly draw with Sturm Graz, which was played over 120 minutes in Marbella.

Viktor Dadason continued his strong form in front of goal with a double during the first 90 minutes, which the Lions lost 4-2.

But goals from Viktor Claesson and Youssoufa Moukoko earned FCK a 'win' in the additional 30 minutes, meaning there was plenty for head coach Neestrup to mull over afterwards.

“It was a training match with pros and cons, but all in all we have really benefited from our stay down here in Marbella and also from the first few training days we had in Copenhagen,” said Neestrup.

“I think we were good on the ball and created a lot of chances today, but also lacked a little sharpness, so we could have scored a few more goals.

"But I'm happy with the number of chances we created, and our passing game was good with the two big boys in the box, Corner and Dadason. We also got some of the easier chances that we've talked about that we'd like to convert more often.

"When we concede four goals, there's obviously something there that we have to go home and look at. Especially the first 10-15 minutes, they caught us out too often and we need to do better, because we're going to face that on Tuesday too (against Napoli)."

The draw was FCK's second of the winter training camp in Marbella, with the squad now set to return to Denmark.

Preparations now turn to Tuesday's UEFA Champions League match against Napoli in Parken, and a trip to Barcelona before the month is out and the Superliga gets back underway.

“All in all, I think we have played two excellent training matches down here, and there were many who performed well," added Neestrup.

"The mood is good, and a few more plays have come to mind than when we went into the winter break. We have left training camps before with several injured players but we have also avoided that, because even though Robert had a collision yesterday, we expect him to be ready just around the corner, and Oliver came off today so that we could take care of him a bit.

“So we go home with a good feeling of where we stand, and after a day of travel tomorrow and a day off on Friday, we will spend the last three training sessions exclusively preparing for the Napoli match, where down here we have had a more general focus on the spring."
