Youngster Nasnas agrees new FCK contract
Sixteen-year-old Marvin Nasnas has agreed a new contract with F.C. Copenhagen, meaning he can continue his development at the club, where he is currently a central midfielder in our U19 team.
Development director Morten Grahn says of the extension: "We are happy to strike a new agreement with Marvin. He possesses a top level that can get him through to our first team.
"Marvin is a real Copenhagen boy who has played at KB and F.C. Copenhagen his whole life. He has been part of our strong KB Talent group and is a good example of a player who has been through our FCK model.
"Marvin has taken a development path that is sometimes misunderstood or overlooked. During his time at FCK, Marvin has had to rely on our starting point for talent development, namely doing the right thing for the individual player and not necessarily what gives the most prestige.
"In Marvin's case, this has meant playing with younger players, and there have been periods when other players trained upwards, while Marvin trained with his own age group. The main focus was to hit the right development that suited his stage of development.
"The trust between player and environment has been essential for him to now take some big steps in a short time later in the process."
Nasnas: Always focused on me getting better
Nasnas has played at KB and F.C. Copenhagen his whole life and has therefore made the move from KB Youth at Pile Allé, and has now signed his first long-term contract with F.C. Copenhagen.
"I'm happy and proud of how things are going, and that the club that I love so much is ready to see me as part of the future. I'm very happy with the plan that has been presented to me," says Nasnas.
"I've always had the feeling that the club has had in mind what has suited me best in relation to what I have needed.
“Whether it has been physical, mental or technical, or whether it has been about playing with younger or older players, it has been with a focus on getting better.
“That is the same feeling I have now, and I am looking forward to continuing that development and just working hard in the future."
Køhler: Can play at a higher level than his age suggests
Mikkel Køhler, FCK's had of recruitment, adds: “The next step for Marvin is to further improve his offensive game. He is still young and must also put in physical effort to take the next steps into senior football.
“Marvin is a very agile midfielder who has a high level with the ball. He has a great engine and is also forward-thinking in his game – both offensively and defensively. This means that as a younger player, he can play at a higher level than his age suggests.
“We look forward to seeing Marvin continue his positive development, and hopefully he will start to get a taste of first-team football in the future."
Nasnas has been playing well this autumn with Denmark's U17 and U18 national teams, in the UEFA Youth League for FCK and in our U19s' domestic league, with the team spending the winter in first place.
