Rasmus Falk

Farewell to an FCK legend: Rasmus Falk returns to OB

F.C. Copenhagen today say goodbye and thank you to Rasmus Falk, who after nine seasons after 339 appearances is leaving the club this summer to join OB.

Falk won five Danish Superliga titles, three Danish Cups and played a significant role in three Champions League campaigns during his time in Copenhagen.

He scored 29 goals and provided 49 assists, having joined the club from OB back in 2016.

Falk: A piece of my heart stays in Copenhagen
Discussing the end of the Copenhagen chapter of his career, Falk says: "It has been a huge honour to play for F.C. Copenhagen. The club has meant everything to me over these years, and I feel privileged to have been part of so many great experiences

"To be allowed to play in the Champions League, win titles and feel the atmosphere in Parken – that is something I will never forget. I have developed enormously as both a player and a person, and my family and I take many strong memories and relationships with me.

"There are many people that I have met during my time at F.C. Copenhagen, and who I will hug when I see them – but first and foremost, they should be thanked for making my time at this club something I will never forget.

"Now it is time to be closer to my family and take the next step with OB, where I had some good years before moving to Copenhagen.

“I will always carry the club in my heart and follow from the sidelines. F.C. Copenhagen will forever be an important part of my life.”

Sune: A player and person in a special class
FCK sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen says: “Rasmus has been a key player for many years, but has also been a key person.

“He has embraced Copenhagen, and he has understood what the club, the fans and the city stand for. He has had an enormous impact on our way of playing football, and his calm approach and professional attitude have influenced the entire team.

“We must remember to be happy when players of his type come to our club, and I know that all F.C. Copenhageners have always done that.

“Five championships, three cups and countless European matches testify to a player who has delivered at the highest level for many years. Rasmus is a standard bearer – both on and off the pitch – and his efforts deserve the utmost respect.

“Now he returns home to OB, and he does so with our gratitude and our very best wishes for his next chapter.”

Neestrup: A gift to work with
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup adds: “For nine years, Rasmus has been the player who has helped to create a bridge between new players and new coaches.

“With his great playing intelligence, he has delivered some absolutely fantastic performances in the F.C. Copenhagen jersey. Performances at the absolute highest level to the great delight of fans, coaches and many others. He has been a crucial player for many years for F.C. Copenhagen.

“But where Rasmus really comes into his own is that he has always put the team above himself and has always wanted the best for F.C. Copenhagen and those he works with.

“He deserves endless respect and thanks for that. We now wish Rasmus all the best in the future, and we look forward to giving him a well-deserved farewell in Parken.
