Waylon Renecke leaves FCK to join Hammarby IF

F.C. Copenhagen have struck an agreement with Hammarby IF for the permanent transfer of 20-year-old Waylon Renecke. The move comes after the defender spent the past six months on loan at Esbjerg fB.

Development director Morten Grahn says about the deal: "Waylon is a player with a lot of talent and a professional approach that we have great confidence will bear fruit in his future career.

"He has shown a good tactical awareness in our Talent Department and during his loan spells, but the competition for places in our first team is very high right now. We believe that it is right for Waylon to get the continuous playing time that is crucial for him at this point in his development.

"We have reached a really good agreement with Hammarby, which suits Waylon well, and we are happy to find this solution that benefits all parties. We wish him all the best in the future."

Renecke joined F.C. Copenhagen's Talent Department from English football in 2024 and managed to make a mark during his time in Copenhagen on the U19 team, before moving to Örgryte and then Esbjerg on loan.

F.C. Copenhagen would like to thank Waylon for his efforts and wish him all the best in Swedish football.
