Viktor Dadason promoted to FCK first team
Viktor Dadason will become a permanent member of F.C. Copenhagen's first-team squad, after an autumn in which the young striker has taken significant steps in his development and impressed both on and off the pitch.
Dadason, 17, has shown great progress throughout the autumn, and his promotion to the first team is testament to the work FCK Talent has done with him in his younger years.
Discussing the move to the first team, Dadason says: “It's big for me and a goal in itself to be promoted to the first-team squad. It is something I have worked hard for and which I have dreamed of when I first came to F.C. Copenhagen.
“Now it's about continuing my development and continuing to take the next step every day. I know that there is still a lot to work on, but I am really looking forward to the challenge."
Clear and early development
FCK sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen says Dadason's development from FCK Talent to first-team action has been crucial in the timing of this promotion.
"We are dealing with a very skilled, young and talented striker who has taken some very big steps early on (in his career). We have always been aware that Viktor was part of the future at F.C. Copenhagen," says Sune.
"That future has moved closer because his development has been as strong and consistent as it has been over the autumn. At the same time, it is a great pleasure when the work from FCK Talent can once again bear fruit and help secure a talented young player for the first-team squad."
Maturity and mental strength
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup highlights both Dadason's playing qualities and his mental robustness as attributes that have earned the teenager his promotion.
"Viktor has developed significantly in terms of playing. He is good at sniffing out goals, and he has a good understanding of the game," says Neestrup.
"He has shown to be mentally strong so far. He does not let himself be distracted, continues to work hard and takes responsibility for his own development. We must bring him forward in the right way, and as we have previously shown that we can do with other talented young players."
Dadason signed a new long-term agreement with F.C. Copenhagen earlier in the autumn. You can read about that HERE.
