Thorup: We have a strong, hungry squad

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jess Thorup praised his side's attacking intent that earned the Lions a 2-0 win over Horsens on Sunday evening.

Goals from Viktor Fischer and Jonas Wind before the midway point of the first half got FCK on their way to all three points.

"You can almost split the game into two parts," said Thorup after FCL recorded a fifth victory in their last six 3F Superliga matches.

"The first 35 minutes we play really good football, split them up, created chances and scored two great goals.

"After that, they fought back and we have to take our hats off to that. Lots of duels, second balls, set pieces, etc.

"But we did not allow them any chance, only a few openings from set pieces, but no real chances. The players delivered a very solid job and I think our back-four chain is fantastic and defends really well with the midfield.

"Again we showed that we have a strong and hungry squad. Andreas Bjelland came in and got his chance and played a good match, Nicolai Boilesen played really well, Mustapha Bundu lasted a little longer than we had expected - but again, it's a strong team performance that secures the three points today.

"The boys are really fighting for each other, and accept that these are the conditions in parts of the match. It was also a difficult surface, especially in the middle of the field, but we showed that we had the virtues of a fighter that were needed today. It was great to see us win that way."

Next up for FCK is a first home game in Parken Stadium since the return of the Superliga since the winter break. The Lions will face SønderjyskE on Monday 15 February at 7pm.
