Svensson: 'We have to finish the job in Parken'
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Bo Svensson has challenged his players to learn from the first leg of their UEFA Conference League Q2 clash with FC Polissya and deliver a solid performance in Parken to progress this evening.
The Lions drew 3-3 in the first leg against their Ukrainian opponents in Kosice – the first match of the 2026/27 season.
Now, having beaten Lyngby 3-2 in the Danish Superliga on Sunday, attention turns back to Europe and a showdown with Polissya in Parken.
And Svensson admits the Ukrainian side have already proven tough to beat.
“We have to finish the job in Parken. Considering that we are early in the European qualifiers, they (Polissya) are a capable opponent," says Svensson.
"We saw in the first match that they delivered exactly the resistance that we expected. They have capable players who work very hard and collectively."
High-scoring first leg
The first match in Slovakia featured six goals, with us twice taking the lead, before the Ukrainians equalised to make it 3-3 in the 88th minute.
Svensson points out that the performance contained both good periods, and elements that need to be improved before the return match.
"We got to see our level in periods, both the good periods and those when we didn't reach the quality we expect. Therefore, it is of course about learning from the first match and achieving a performance that sends us through to the next round.
"We got a useful result, and we need that to ensure that we advance. We are looking forward to playing in Parken again, because it is always an intense experience that we greatly appreciate. Now we have to put together a performance that will ensure that we advance."
