Svensson expects physical battle during FC Polissya vs FCK

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Bo Svensson says tonight's UEFA Conference League qualifier against FC Polissya in Kosice will be a physical battle – but he expects the Lions to deliver before the return leg next week in Parken.

"They're a physically strong team that's cohesive, well-trained and disciplined," says Svensson of FCK's opponents. "They finished third in their league last season and even finished ahead of Dynamo Kyiv, so they're a team with qualities.

"We will of course go out to play the game on our terms and to win the game, but as always in these games, it is first and foremost just about progressing. That will be decided over two legs tomorrow and next Wednesday in Parken.

"Everyone can see that we are missing a number of players, because in addition to the injured players, Gabriel and Delaney are suspended, and Birger has stayed at home because his wife is heavily pregnant.

"But we focus on those we have available and field players from the start and during the match who we believe are best suited to solve the task tomorrow. Only then will we see how things look for the next matches."

The squad will fly home from Kosice on Friday afternoon and train behind closed doors on Saturday, before facing Lyngby in the first match of the 2026/27 Superliga season on Sunday – followed by the return match against FC Polissya next Wednesday.
