Parken named best pitch in the Superliga ever
Parken Stadium’s pitch has been named the best in Denmark across for 2025/26 season with the highest rating in the lifetime of the award.
A significant investment of millions of kroner and the hiring of the right team has led to Parken being awarded the Best Pitch.
Superliga captains rate all pitches during the season, and the award is presented by The Players' Association on behalf of the players.
The award will be presented to F.C. Copenhagen's head of grounds, Oliver Deeming, who has not only transformed Parken's pitch, but also the training pitches at F.C. Copenhagen's facility in Frederiksberg.
Skilled grounds team
With the most challenging conditions in Denmark, Oliver and his skilled grounds team have managed to ensure a fantastic pitch in Parken all year round to the great pleasure of players, fans and TV viewers.
It also puts the award in an impressive light that Parken is the country's largest stadium, with hightest terraces, and therefore has significant shadow coverage on the grass. Parken's pitch is also the most used in the entire Superliga – due to Superliga matches, European matches and international matches taking place.
Extensive renovation
The pitch's transformation began three-and-a-half years ago, when the subsoil in Parken underwent the largest renovation since the stadium was established in 1992.
With a significant investment of millions of kroner, the pitch's surface was excavated, and a new drainage system, pitch heating system, irrigation system and an irrigation tank for the 7,630 green m2 were installed.
Every single day – morning, noon, evening (and night) – since 1 January 2024, Oliver and his team have carefully and passionately cared for and looked after every blade of grass in Parken and at training facility Number 10.
Groundsteam honored on Sunday
Oliver and the groundsteam will be officially presented with the award before the last Superliga match of the season against Randers FC in Parken on Sunday 17 May, where they will receive their well-deserved tribute.
