Neestrup reacts to FCK 6-3 Breidablik

F.C. Copenhagen secured safe passage to the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on Wednesday with a 6-3 victory over Breidablik in the second leg of Q2 in Parken.

Orri Óskarsson's hat-trick came after first-half goals from Diogo Gonçalves, Elias Achouri and Jordan Larsson, which helped secure the 8-3 aggregate victory.

Speaking after the game FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup said: "We are through to Q3, and that is the most important thing.

"We are one step further in our ambition to play in the Champions League group stage, and now two close matches against Sparta Prague await in the next round.

"Of course, we have to deal with the first 20-25 minutes of the game, which is the worst I have seen so far in my time as an FCK coach, and we take that very seriously, even if we turned it around before the break.

"We must not let our levels fall that low, and it was from both individual technical errors and structural errors across the team. Even before they (Breidablik) went ahead we had received a couple of Icelandic warnings when they challenged us."

FCK will take on Sparta Prague over two legs in the third qualifying round, with the first leg in Parken on Tuesday 8 August. Before that the Lions take on Randers at home on Saturday at 4pm, with tickets still available for the game.
