Martin Langagergaard extends agreement with FCK

F.C. Copenhagen have agreed to extend the club's agreement with psychology consultant Martin Langagergaard until the summer of 2022.

Martin joined FCK in 2018 from a similar role at AaB, with whom he worked for 12 years. He has also worked with Rosenborg and Molde.

Martin has also worked in many environments other than the football world and runs the consultancy learntoimprove. He is also a consultant for the Police Action Force and the corresponding Norwegian Delta unit. He is thus used to environments with many people, great interest and a certain amount of pressure.

An important factor
"We have been very pleased with Martin's work around the team and the staff," says FCK manager Ståle Solbakken.

"He is a capable man and a human being who understands and supports the culture we have at FCK. He has not only helped with the players' work, but has also been an important factor in the development of our team around the squad. We look forward to continuing and developing that collaboration."

Grateful for the confidence
The title of 'psychological performance consultant' states that Langagergaard's primary task is to support the psychological mechanisms at play when a club such as FCK must regularly perform at very high levels and under high pressure. A pressure that can come from both outside and within the club, and can also come from the individual's personal situation.

"I really enjoy working in the environment at FCK, where there is always a focus on performance and culture," says Martin.

"It is challenging, stimulating and instructive to work with experts - both players and staff - and I am grateful for the confidence that FCK has shown in me over the past two years.

We get to test the culture
“That is why I am also pleased that we are continuing our cooperation until the summer of 2022, and that I will continue to make my contribution so that we can fulfil our ambitions at FCK.

"New challenges await us all the time - and in a situation like the coronavirus, which we have not experienced before, we get a new way of testing the culture of the club, while at the same time looking forward to playing games again when the time comes."
