Mads Emil Madsen: We'll play with power
F.C. Copenhagen's Mads Emil Madsen says he's excited for the new season to get underway on Thursday when the Lions face Ukrainian side FC Polissya in Slovakia, and hopes the players hit the game hard.
FCK trained at the Košická Futbalová Aréna on Wednesday evening ahead of today's UEFA Conference League Q2 first leg with Polissya – a match you can follow directly in the FCK app with an FCK+ subscription.
"I hope, of course, that many people tune in for the match and that they get to see an aggressive FCK team that comes out and plays with power and a belief that we can get into the game," says Madsen.
"I think we've had a good preseason and we looked good in our last game against Viborg. I think we have a powerful team that can do that tomorrow as well.
"It's also no disadvantage for us that they have to play on a neutral pitch, so they don't have all their own fans behind them. Of course, it's always more fun to play in front of a lot of people, but there probably won't be that many tomorrow.
"But it's an excellent stadium, where the pitch was just a bit long, so I hope they cut it a bit before the."
Approximately 100 FCK fans are in Slovakia for tonight's game, and they will probably make sure to be heard among the estimated 2,500 crowd expected for the match.
