Lions edge Sønderjyske 2-1
Jacob Neestrup was all praise for his F.C. Copenhagen side after Saturday's 2-1 win over Sønderjyske returned to the Lions to winning ways.
A goal either side of half time from Robert Silva earned FCK victory in the Superliga, as attention now turns back to the UEFA Champions League this week.
Reflecting on the weekend's game, head coach Neestrup said: "We played a really good first half, where we were in full control and created many chances through good, well-played attacks.
"After the break, we also played solidly and went two up, and I never really felt that there was any danger. But coincidences can always occur in football, like the one that led to their penalty. But I think we handled it very well afterwards, even though it got a little hectic at the end, when they pressed for an equaliser.
"Overall, we kept them almost completely free from chances, which they have been good at creating in previous matches. We avoided making the mistakes we saw last Sunday (vs Silkeborg), and that was also important.
"We also played with a little less risk in our early build-up play, but up front we played really good football with lots of dynamism, and many hit a good level."
Discussing Robert's two goals, Neestrup added: "Among other things, it was great to see Robert deliver at a high level for the fourth game in a row. He had an excellent game against Leverkusen, also played well against Silkeborg with an assist for one of the goals, and he was also good at Lyngby the other day.
"It's important that he gets that stability into his game, because he is a very exciting player with obvious qualities."
