Jonas Wind promoted to first-team squad
FC Copenhagen have promoted Jonas Wind to our first-team squad on his 19th birthday.
Wind has convinced manager Ståle Solbakken to bump him up to the Superliga side following an impressive development period.
Ståle said: "Jonas has left a really good impression here, most recently at the start of the year where he showed he is ready to take the next step.
“He has always scored and created goals in our talent department, but he is also building the physical and running capacity required for FCK forwards.
“It is a testament to Jonas, but of course also to his coaches, teachers and teammates in the talent department, that he is taking this step now.
“We are looking forward to working with him.”
Wind himself spoke about the move from the reserves to the first team.
"Of course, I'm both happy and proud of this decision,” he said.
“It’s something I've been working hard on for a long time. It is not easy to reach the Superliga squad, but that's the goal and the dream for us in the talent department.
“At the same time, I am also fully aware that the hard work has just begun, because I'm not finished with my development so I'm looking forward to training with a lot of skilled players and working with the coaches around the team.”
Jonas Wind has signed a contract until the summer of 2022 and will wear shirt No 23.
