Hjalte Nørregaard returns to Copenhagen

F.C. Copenhagen has signed a 4 ½-year contract with midfielder Hjalte Nørregaard, 25, who returns to his native Danish club after one year in Heerenveen.

 

Hjalte Nørregaard began his professionel career in Copenhagen in 2000, and he is a product of the talent-development program in KB, one of the two motherclubs of F.C. Copenhagen. The strong central-midfielder made 120 appearances for Copenhagen scoring 17 goals, before he signed for Heerenveen in July 2005. Hjalte Nørregaard became an all-time Copenhagen hero back in june 2003, when he came on as a substitute against Brøndby and scored the winner in the dying seconds, which practically assured the national championship.

 

- I’m delighted that I’m coming home! I know the club inside out and I’ve always had a special feeling for Copenhagen. I’m looking forward to play in PARKEN again, and with Champions League coming up, it’s even more exciting, says Hjalte Nørregaard.
