FCK learn potential opponents in UCL Q2

F.C. Copenhagen will face either Shamrock Rovers FC or the winner of the UEFA Champions League preliminary qualifying round in the Lions' first qualifying stages of this season's competition.

Shamrock Rovers are still awaiting their opponents in the first qualifying round, with four teams competing in a mini-tournament to determine who goes through.

Those teams are:

  • Atlètic Club d'Escaldes (Andorra)
  • Budućnost Podgorica (Montenegro)
  • Tre Penne (San Marino)
  • Breidablik (Iceland)

FCK enter the competition in the second qualifying round, and we won't know our opponents until 18/19 July.

We now know the exact details of our leg in Parken, but won't know further details of the home tie until the first qualifying round has concluded:

  • Away leg – 25/26 July 2023
  • Home leg – 2 August 2023 at 8pm

If Irish champions Shamrock Rovers progress, we can look back on a previous meeting with them in the Champions League qualifiers in 2011, where we won 3-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, the confirmation of our fixture date means the club can now confirm our first home game of the Danish Superliga season will be on Saturday 5 August at 4pm against Randers.
