F.C. Copenhagen win first derby with 3-1 triumph at Brøndby
F.C. Copenhagen Women secured a historic derby victory at the first time of asking on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Brøndby in front of more than 5,400 fans at Brøndby Stadium.
And The Lionesses had to do it the hard way after falling a goal down to Tilde Lindwall midway through the first half.
English defender Lucy Roberts headed FCK level on 36 minutes, before new signing Anisa Saini converted a rebound from Ida Skovbo's header to make it 2-1 early in the second half.
Saini wrapped up the game late on when finishing substitute Emma Brandt's through-ball, after BIF had been reduced to 10 players.
Both sides also hit the crossbar and Skovbo was fortunate an own goal was ruled out for offside.
Brandt had an opportunity to make it 4-1, but fired wide on the counter-attack, while substitute Rebeka Winther went close with a great chance in added time.
The result in such a historic game marks a major triumph for the entire team and the acting head coach Fabiana Alcalà.
The game also marked Josefine Svava's debut - the 15-year-old coming on with 20 minutes remaining.
