F.C. Copenhagen nominated for international ticket award

The big increase in attendances at Parken Stadium for F.C. Copenhagen games has been noticed internationally.

This week F.C. Copenhagen has been nominated for a major international prize at The Ticketing Business Awards 2023, which is the largest of its kind in the world.

The attendance figures for F.C. Copenhagen's matches have increased significantly in recent seasons.

In the 2017/2018 season, the average was 13,713 for the home games in the Danish Superliga. This season it currently stands at 27,605 and is expected to increase during the last three home games in the Championship Round.

This development has also been noticed outside Denmark, and F.C. Copenhagen has now been nominated for an award at TheTicketingBusiness Awards, which is the industry's biggest event and takes place at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

"We are very proud of this recognition," says FCK director Jacob Lauesen.

"Not least because we have had nothing to do with the nomination ourselves, but we have been noticed by others in the industry for our development and we regard this as a substantial credit for our efforts."

F.C. Copenhagen is nominated in the category "Campaign of the Year" together with, among others, the English Football Association for the Women's European Championship, the Australian Cricket Association for the Cricket World Cup and several of the world's biggest music festivals.

"We are in great company, and it is also to a large extent our fans who have deserved that recognition," continues Jacob.

"They create a fantastic atmosphere that makes it a great experience to come to Parken, and the development on our fan scene – combined with our efforts on the pitch and in the back offices – are the big drivers in the development we have seen.

"It shouldn't sound strange, be we feel that we are simply living up to what we should be able to do here at F.C. Copenhagen. But it's good to see that our strategic focus on raising the total experience is having the effect we want.

"We are only just getting started, but we have begun really strong in this area, and we are very focused on retaining our fans who can then attract even more in the future to become F.C. Copenhageners."
