F.C. Copenhagen appoint Nils Koppen as Head of Scouting and Recruitment

F.C. Copenhagen have today appointed Nils Koppen as the club’s new Head of Scouting and Recruitment for the first team.

He will lead the daily operations of the scouting department and report directly to Technical Director Andreas Hintze Rocks.

The 40-year-old Belgian joins F.C. Copenhagen from Rangers FC, where he most recently served as Technical Director. He has previously held senior roles at PSV Eindhoven and KRC Genk.

“It has long been a strategic priority for us to further develop our scouting department, and with the appointment of Nils we are taking an important step in our broader strategic effort to strengthen this area,” says Andreas.

“After a thorough recruitment process, we are confident that Nils is the right candidate. He combines strong football expertise with international experience and is used to working in clubs where winning is a must – all qualities that fit perfectly with our performance environment.”

As Head of Scouting and Recruitment, Nils Koppen will be responsible for leading and developing the club’s recruitment activities around the first team.

“I’m very happy to become part of F.C. Copenhagen,” says Nils. “The club is known for its clear ambition and strong structure, and my conversations with both Andreas and Sune Smith-Nilsen have confirmed that. I look forward to developing the recruitment work further and contributing to keeping F.C. Copenhagen competitive at the highest level – both in Denmark and in Europe.”
