FCK lose 4-2 to drop out of Cup

Farewell as young star leaves for Italy

It has today been confirmed that young FC Copenhagen striker Kenneth Zohore has signed a transfer agreement with Italian side Fiorentina, and has moved to the club with immediate effect.

FCK sporting director Carsten V. Jensen states:

-We were contacted by Fiorentina earlier this month over the possible transfer of Kenneth Zohore. Over the last week or so, our dialogue has intensified and resulted in Kenneth having the opportunity to visit the club and the city, and thus form his own impression of the situation.

- At FC Copenhagen, we focus on developing our own players to the benefit of the team, and it has therefore not been an easy decision to let Zohore go. But with only eleven months left on his contract and with great competition for places in attack, we have come to an agreement on conditions for a transfer. We have obtained a good agreement, and we wish Kenneth all the best of luck with his continued development in Italy.

Zohore, who turns 18 years old today, debuted as the youngest ever player in the Superliga, when in March 2010 he helped defeat AGF 5-0 in PARKEN. Additionally, he became the second youngest player to ever play in the UEFA Champions League when in October of the same year he was used as a substitute against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou. In total, Zohore played 23 matches for FC Copenhagen.
