Jublende fans i Telia Parken

CEO Anders Hørsholt: A wonderful evening for all Copenhageners

There was an intense atmosphere and massive backing when F.C. Copenhagen beat Vardar 4-1 in the Champions League third qualifying round on Wednesday evening. It was a match CEO Anders Hørsholt was very pleased to enjoy.

“FCK delivered both on the pitch and in the stands, where the fans contributed greatly to providing the energy needed to cope with a difficult task," says Anders Hørsholt after F.C. Copenhagen’s win over Vardar.

“Copenhagen really got together yesterday, and it provided a wonderful evening for all of us. There is something special about the European evenings in Telia Park, and Wednesday was certainly no exception.

“We had hoped for great support and we got it. Now we can gladly say more European nights in Telia Parken await this autumn. They mean a lot to all of us who love F.C. Copenhagen.”

Victory against Vardar ensured F.C. Copenhagen move into the playoff round of the Champions League and guarantees at least Europa League groups action for this season.

It will be the club’s 11th European campaign in 12 years.

"It's part of our identity to play international football, so it's a big goal for us every year,” Hørsholt continued.

“We are a club who always want more. Now we will do all we can to take the next step. We know it's going to be very difficult, but big challenges and difficult tasks are part of the drive for everyone at FCK.”

The Champions League playoff draw will the place on Friday at noon and fans can watch the match either on TV3Sport.dk, UEFA’s own website or Viaplay.
