Focus on Breidablik
Breidablik are defending Icelandic champions, having won the club's second championship and first since 2010 last year.

They currently sit third in the Icelandic top flight after 15 rounds, eight points behind leaders Vikungur. On Saturday night they play at home against IBV Vestmannaeyjar.

The team is coached by Óskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson, who is the father of FCK player Orri Óskarsson. The squad consists largely of Icelandic players, including five internationals, as well as two Faroese internationals.

Previous meetings
We have met Breidablik twice during winter training camps in Portugal:

On 10 February 2014 we won 2-0 with a goal by Daniel Braaten and an own goal from Damir Muminovic (who also scored the Icelanders' winning goal in the away match against Shamrock Rovers).

On 11 February 2022 we won 4-3 thanks to two goals from Ísak Jóhannesson and a strike apiece from Mamoudou Karamoko and Emil Højlund.

We have also met an Icelandic team in a European tournament before - in 2018 we beat Stjarnan 2-0 in Reykjavik and won 5-0 at home (Europa League second qualifying round). In addition, we won 2-1 away to Keflavik in the Intertoto Cup in the summer of 1996.
