Dominik Sarapata agrees contract extension and loan
F.C. Copenhagen have agreed a contract extension with Dominik Sarapata until the summer of 2029. At the same time, the midfielder is traveling to Poland on a loan deal with Wisla Plock, who are top of the Ekstraklasa.
Sarapata, who has just turned 18, joined F.C. Copenhagen in June 2025. The extension of the agreement means Sarapata can continue to work on his development, so that he can eventually become part of the midfield at F.C. Copenhagen.
With the prospect of continuous playing time at senior level, Sarapata is going to Wisla Plock until the summer of 2026.
“We are dealing with a very young player, and we see great potential in him,” says sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen.
“That is why we wanted to extend his contract and at the same time lay out a good joint plan for his next development step.
“When we signed Dominik in the summer, we were aware that time and patience were needed for him to build on his development. But we also had an expectation that he could contribute with more playing time in the first team than has been the case.
“That is why we are also making the responsible decision and sending Dominik to Poland to get more playing time and develop, so that he can return to us in an even stronger player.”
Sarapata says of the two agreements: “I need playing time to progress, so that I can come back and make an impact for F.C. Copenhagen.
“We have had a good discussion about my next step, and I am fully focused on raising my level and proving myself in Poland, so that I can compete for a place in the midfield here in Copenhagen.
“It has undoubtedly been a big change for me to move from home to a new country, a new language, a new culture and a new style of play. It has required a lot of getting used to, and probably more than I expected.
“But adversity can also be used positively, and I am convinced that I have a future at F.C. Copenhagen. Fortunately, we agree on that, and I am very happy that we have extended my contract.”
