Elyounoussi: 'We're hungry and motivated to get back to work'
F.C. Copenhagen's Mohamed Elyounoussi says the squad is raring to go in 2026 after returning from a short winter break on Saturday.
With the Danish Superliga on hiatus until February, the Lions players are back in training to prepare for two UEFA Champions League matches against Napoli and Barcelona.
Elyounoussi spent the winter break in warmer climes with his family and now has his eyes set on a "hectic" start to 2026.
"It's always nice to be back after a nice holiday, and it was good to see the boys again," said the Norwegian after his first day back at Number 10.
"Now we're hungry and motivated to get back to work.
"(My family and I) went far south to get some sun, so it was more jet skiing than skiing. Although we could relax during the holidays and take a mental break from football, we also had a programme to follow, and that was perhaps more important than ever considering that we are only a little over two weeks away from playing in the Champions League.
"There is also only a week left until we play the first training match against Brann down in Marbella, so it will be a short and hectic mid-season camp. But we are looking forward to kick-starting 2026 with a good performance against Napoli, and then the away match against Barcelona before the Superliga and the Danish Cup also get going."
